WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE: CEOs, directors of nursing, lab directors, medical directors, directors of case management, directors of quality improvement, behavioral health quality directors, risk managers, behavioral health risk managers, hospital attorneys, and any personnel who are involved in a hospital survey conducted by Louisiana Department of Health (LDH)
OVERVIEW: This update from the LDH Health Standards Section will assist hospital providers in understanding the role and structure of Health Standards; common hot topic questions from hospitals; why and when surveys are conducted; reporting requirements for hospitals, rural emergency hospitals, nurse staffing agencies, and burn units; common issues identified regarding abuse/neglect issues; and Prospective Payment System (PPS)-excluded hospitals/units. The presenters will review survey packets to assist with any ongoing issues identified by LDH Health Standards. Participants will have an opportunity to ask questions regarding these processes and discuss any proactive measures that can be implemented by hospitals.
